Health Insurance Needs

How can I find out more about my health insurance options?

The SHINE (Serving the Health Information Needs of Elders) Program is a health benefits peer counseling service which uses trained volunteers to assist elders with questions about Medicare, Medicare supplements, Medicare Health Maintenance Organizations, public benefits with health care components, Medicaid, free hospital care, drug assistance programs and long-term health care plans. SHINE Counselors are available at most Councils on Aging, Senior Centers and Aging Services Access Points, hospitals and libraries. Counselors are also available for homebound elders. Elders in the Worcester area can call the Worcester County offices of SHINE, located in Milford, at 508-473-8334.
